A previously unknown Rosenthal 78, Argentine Odeon 132552, was auctioned on Ebay for $54 in fall 2004. The recording session took place sometime between March 6 and June 20, 1928, making them very possibly Rosenthal's first recorded performances. However, the repertoire - consisting of Chopin's Waltz Op. 64 #2, Mazurka Op. 67 #1 and Waltz in E-minor - is duplicated on later Rosenthal records.

Methuen-Campbell lists one additional Edison record: 82353 L, 10-inch vertical-cut that contains Chopin Preludes #s 6, 7, 11, & 23 (matrix 19063 A 1-3) and Nouvelle Etude #2 and Etude Op. 10 10 #1 (matrix 19145 B 1-3). The recording date is unknown and this may simply be a different format of Edison 47004, which duplicates the repertoire.

(1) This is a bit mysterious. The trade names Parlophone/Odeon/Decca were all connected, as were Ultraphon/Telefunken, so it's not unusual to find the same performance appearing on both Parlophone and Decca. However, as far as I know, Odeon and Ultraphon were not connected; in addition, it's very unusual for one record to have two different matrix numbers. Nevertheless, the Odeon and Ultraphon releases of the Berceuse - at least on the above reissues - are almost certainly the same performance. Back
